Wanita Bisa

"Wanita Bisa" is a non-profit organization established during the summer of 2022 at Columbia University, and it is dedicated to championing UN Sustainable Development Goals 5 and 8 - Gender Equality and Decent Work & Economic Growth across Indonesia. Our mission is to foster economic empowerment among underprivileged women in Indonesia, which are Domestic Workers or living in Squatter Settlements. In Jakarta & Tanggerang.

Through strategic partnerships with private sector entities, 'Wanita Bisa' provides women with accredited skills and certifications while imparting essential financial literacy education. These certifications and training for entry-level industries (soap and candle manufacturing) can be used to enter formal industries. Our ultimate aim is to empower these women with financial independence, enabling them to break free from abusive households and lead self-sustained lives.
